Taking your baby out and about

I full heatedly believe that your baby adapts to the surroundings that you introduce them to.
With that being said, I knew I wasn't going to be the mom that worried about leaving the house, wasn't worried about germs, wasn't worried about her crying in public, and wasn't worried about feeding in public.

I knew that the more times we took Claire places, the more she would be used to being out of the house. We take Claire everywhere. In fact, her first outing was at 10 days old.

And now she loves going places! She goes shopping, runs errands, goes out to dinner and dessert. And she is great! Unfortunately, now she is a squealer and loves to hear her echo... so it makes for some awkward stares and some "indoor voice Claire" shushing. But other than that she's perfect.
She loves looking at things and people and new making friends.

Now, it might be different when we have the next baby, but I kind of doubt it.
I hate being cooped up in the house! And in rainy Seattle, we are usually stuck inside or in a store where I spend money....
I can't wait till Spring and Summer get here. I want to go on walks again, go to the zoo, take Claire to the dog park (I think she would like it), etc. It would also help if she could crawl/walk, but I suppose that comes later....

So to the new to be Mamas out there, get those babies out and about! Don't be confined to your house in fear of the unknown. It's really not that scary out there.

I totally agree! In fact I think it was way easier to take Eva out and about when she was a newborn rather than a toddler!!
